Key Features & Benefits
- Shock Absorption: Provides excellent cushioning to protect items from impact and damage during shipping.
- Recyclable Material: Made from paper that can be recycled, contributing to environmental sustainability.
- Easy to Use: Simple to crumple and place into packages, making it a convenient choice for packing and organizing.
This is crinkle paper: paper cut into thin zig-zag strands that spring up instead of lying flat. It comes in eight choices, blue, green, yellow, red, white, black, brown or mixed colours, in packs of 500 g or 1 kg. It is for hamper makers, gift shops, D2C brands and anyone who wants a gift box to look full and festive when it opens.
In a hamper it does two jobs. It makes a bed that holds the products in place, and it carries the colour of the occasion.
What you get
| Type | Shredded crinkle (zig-zag) paper |
|---|---|
| Colours | Blue, green, yellow, red, white, black, brown, mixed colours |
| Pack sizes | 500 g or 1 kg |
The mixed pack in the photos has red, yellow, green, blue and white strands together.
How much do you need?
I cannot tell you how many grams your hamper takes, because it depends on your box, your products and your hand. So weigh it. Fill a bowl with crinkle, weigh it, build one hamper from the bowl, and weigh the bowl again. The difference is your fill per hamper. Do this for three hampers and take the average.
| Your fill per hamper | Per 500 g pack | Per 1 kg pack |
|---|---|---|
| 30 g | about 16 | about 33 |
| 50 g | 10 | 20 |
| 100 g | 5 | 10 |
Add about 10% for spills and the messy bottom of the pack. I worked through a full festive season this way in our hamper business case study.
How to choose
Take 1 kg of your main colour for a busy season, and 500 g of a colour you need for one client or one occasion. Red and yellow suit Diwali, while white, black and brown look calm in a corporate box. Want to see the colour and feel first? Our packaging sample listing includes crinkle paper.
Two honest limits
Crinkle paper is mostly for looks and light filling. It will not protect a glass jar or a diya on its own, so wrap those first and use crinkle around them. Also, we do not claim this paper is food grade. Keep mithai, dry fruits and cookies in their own sealed packs, and never loose on the crinkle. Our Diwali hamper packing guide has the full build.
Questions buyers ask
Will dark colours rub off on a white gift?
We suggest a simple test. Put a damp white cloth on the black or red crinkle overnight, and if any colour moves, keep that colour away from fabric gifts.
How should I store it?
We would keep it sealed, off the floor and in a dry room, because damp crinkle goes limp.
