Honeycomb Mailer

Padded paper mailers with kraft paper outside, honeycomb paper padding inside and a self-seal strip, so you need no extra tape. Six sizes from M1 (6 x 9 inch) to M6 (15 x 19 inch), in packs of 10, 50 or 100. They suit jewellery, books, accessories and small boxed products, for brands that want padding without plastic.

The padding takes up room inside, so measure your product as it ships, with its box, and leave space around it. Start with a pack of 10, and move to 50 or 100 once the size works, because bigger packs cost less per mailer. Glass and heavy items still need a carton, and in heavy rain a plastic courier bag keeps water out better.

Buying honeycomb padded mailers

A honeycomb mailer is a kraft paper envelope lined with honeycomb paper padding. It does the job of a plastic bubble mailer for small items like jewellery, accessories, books, cosmetics and small electronics. Brands that want a plastic-free unboxing buy it from us, and so do sellers who would rather not use a carton for small things.

We stock six sizes, in packs of 10, 50 or 100: M1 (6 x 9 inch), M2 (9 x 11), M3 (10 x 13), M4 (11 x 15), M5 (12 x 16) and M6 (15 x 19).

To pick one, measure the item and add its thickness to both the width and the length. The padding takes up some room inside. A mailer that only just fits will strain at the seal.

When in doubt, I would order a small pack in two sizes and pack a few real orders first.

Closing is simple. Peel the strip and press, and no tape is needed. The mailer is paper inside and out, so your customer can recycle it with paper waste.

An honest limit from my side: a padded mailer is for small, flat or sturdy items. A glass bottle or a ceramic mug still needs a carton with honeycomb wrap around it.

PackSmith is the online store of JPPL Innovation, part of Jagannath Polymers, which exports packaging to 20+ countries. We dispatch in 1 to 2 working days with free delivery across India, and our ₹79 sample kit includes one mailer.

Questions buyers ask

Are honeycomb mailers waterproof?

No. They are paper, so they are not made for rain or standing water. On routes where parcels may wait in heavy monsoon rain, a plastic courier bag is the safer outer, and I think that is a fair trade-off to make.

Do I still need bubble wrap inside the mailer?

Usually not. The honeycomb lining is the cushioning. For an item with a sharp corner or a glass part, wrap it in a layer of honeycomb paper first, or move it to a carton.

Which size should I order first?

Two sizes, in the smallest pack. Measure your best-selling item, add its thickness to the width and length, and pick the size just above that and the one after it. Pack a few real orders, then buy the bigger pack of the one that fits.

Paper mailer or courier bag?

A mailer when the item needs cushioning or your brand wants no plastic. A courier bag for clothes and soft goods that need no padding and may face rain. Our paper mailer vs courier bag guide compares the two.
